About us

Why care for cows?

Krishna Valley – Care For Cows is a peaceful cow sanctuary (Goshalla)  located in Bambra, Victoria, where cows, calves and bulls are cared for their entire lives. Rooted in the principle of ‘ahimsa’ i.e. non-violence, our cows are never harmed, sold or slaughtered. They are protected, respected and lovingly cared for, day by day, as valued family members of our community.

Our program supports:

  • Healing the earth — Sustainable farming without exploitation
  • Nourishing us — Pure milk, ghee, and eco craft essentials
  • Transforming hearts — Compassion as a spiritual practice
  • Building a family — Real connection through shared purpose

I thoroughly enjoyed the one day bhakti and wellness retreat at Hare Krishna Valley. What a beautiful and serene place. Everyone there was so lovely that it was easy to feel instantly relaxed and a part of a great experience. The food was delicious and the walk to the hill as the cows came walking towards us was incredible to see. Difficult to pick a highlight as everything was genuinely perfect but the yoga sessions with Ash... WOW! Those were definitely the best yoga classes that I have ever attended. Oh... and seeing the Milky Way for the first time was spectacular! This was the most relaxing, connected and engaging 24 hours. I cannot recommend this retreat highly enough!

The Hare Krishna Valley has been one of the retreats center that has created the biggest impact in my life. After staying for a few weeks as a volunteer, the first time I visited it, I became a vegetarian and adopted some other beautiful and powerful practices such meditation and the practice of yoga as part of my morning routines. The staff is extremely friendly , welcoming and inclusive. They made me feel at home right since the beginning . Whenever I need to reconnect and recharge, I always try to go and spend some time over there. There are always different retreats going on and you can also go and spend some time with the cows and walking along the organic gardens too. I simply love this place and will be forever grateful with it.

Hare Krishna Valley is a truly special place, full of natural beauty and deep peace. The landscape is stunning, with rolling hills, tall trees, and a calm atmosphere that immediately helps you slow down and breathe. Seeing the Ahimsa Brahmana cows cared for with such gentleness is deeply moving, and the kangaroos lazing in the sunshine add a uniquely Australian charm to the valley. The environment feels harmonious and respectful of all living beings. The thoughtful spiritual discussions are inspiring and grounding, offering space for reflection and meaningful connection. To top it all off, the vegetarian and vegan food is absolutely delicious—fresh, nourishing, and prepared with care. Hare Krishna Valley is a peaceful retreat that feeds both the body and the soul.

Hare Krishna Valley - I had the most serene and breathtaking experience at Hare Krishna Valley. Trust me, it's a must-visit destination that will leave you feeling peaceful and rejuvenated. The highlight of my visit was feeding the cows, which was made possible by the kind and friendly Manager. He provided us with options to purchase buckets of feed, including Chara (Grass) and grains, for just $10. We also had carrots with us to feed cows. The opportunity to donate to a noble cause was also appreciated. We also did some donations here. The ambiance was incredibly positive, and the environment was so calming that even with my eyes closed, I could feel the serenity of the surroundings. I highly recommend visiting Hare Krishna Valley for a truly enriching experience. particularly the manager was exceptional in their hospitality and helpfulness. If you're looking for a place to unwind and connect with nature and a higher purpose, look no further. This haven is sure to leave you feeling grateful and at peace."

A must visit if you like to hang out and feed the cows. They are very friendly and love to eat apples, carrots & bananas. Love this serene and tranquil corner where you can spend time meditating or just being there!

Meet the herd

From curious calves to wise old souls, meet our bovine family who bring a sense of compassion at the Krishna Valley.

I’m Anuradha, the curious baby of the group always hopping on my hooves!

I’m Baliman, the youngest in the herd, and yeah, I’m basically the cool, calm, collected type!

I’m Ekadashi, and I’m basically a brilliant, bold live wire with zero off switch. I will push past anyone between me and brushes or treats!

I’m Gita Govinda—most people call me Gita. I’m curious, sweet-natured, and quick on my feet.
